The Vision: To create one online Adult Parenteral Drug Therapy Manual (PDTM) for Acute Care and Long Term Care (LTC) sites at BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre (BCW), Providence Health Care (PHC) and Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), reflecting Clinical & Systems Transformation (CST) standards and aligning with the smart pump drug library.
Content has been developed with interdisciplinary input and approved by regional and local Pharmacy/Drugs and Therapeutics Committees. It is intended as a guide to promote the safe administration of parenteral drugs.
Monographs of parenteral drugs on BC Health Authority’s formulary are included to provide summary information on preparation, routes of administration, monitoring requirements, dosages, toxicities, and serious adverse reactions. The information in these monographs is based on literature sources and current practices at BCW, PHC and VCH.
